Meet Our Advisory Board
...and basically the reason we do what we do
Rico
While living on the streets of Merced, Rico aspired to be a banjo player. But he soon discovered that his skills were better suited to a career in happiness. He briefly attended the SPCA University in Oakland before Dana quickly recruited him as her partner. He is now in charge of checks and balances (checks to make sure she's okay in the bathtub, and balances her work life with walks, snuggles, and joy.) He attends regular agility classes where he has been an enthusiastic beginner for over two years. He excels at the dogwalk and inappropriately timed zoomies. Rico is all about bringing positivity and is known for his magnificent smile. He actively avoids being friends with Max but tolerates his presence on walks.
Ron and Sugar
Sugar (dark brown) and Ron (light brown and a cancer survivor!) went from the streets to luxury, and now they’ve got the taste of the good life, they certainly won’t be giving it up. When they are not hard at work relaxing, or travelling across the country, they are strong advocates for all puppy rights - but especially bully’s rights! You can rest assured that the only thing that matters to these two (apart from food!) is making sure even more of their fellow pooches find happy homes!

Max
Rescued from the mean streets of Oakland by the good folks over at Rocket Dog Rescue, Max was adopted by Carolyn, a former RDR volunteer who he had latched on to during his stay at their sanctuary. Previously scared of his own shadow, his confidence has grown and grown and he now lives for road trips and the great outdoors! He still suffers from a little PTSD from living on the streets but he's committed to his training and overcoming his fears. Tennis balls and sticks are his obsessions and you can usually find one in his mouth while he's out on a walk. Speaking of walks, Max enjoys going on pack walks with other doggos but especially loves walking with Rico and is determined to get Rico to play with him and be his friend. (Rico is still mulling this over)
Daisy
A former stray found at around 4 months old and adopted by Carolyn when she was never claimed, Daisy's motto is; "Carolyn is my person. Every other animal and person in this world are merely tolerated by me." Daisy is now 11 years old and has road tripped around the entire country numerous times, loves to experience new places and has a particular fondness for the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.
